Angkor Archaeological Park, Siem Reap, Cambodia


The reason for going to Siem Reap is to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Angkor Archaeological Park. The entire park comprises of approximately 200 different temples, and we visited the three most popular ones, first Angkor Wat, then Angkor Thom and finally Ta Prohm, aka "the one from the Tomb Raider movie starring Angelina Jolie". Each temple is very impressive and interesting for different reasons.

Most people get to the Park by tuk tuk, but we opted for a car and driver. This option is a little more money but you get the enjoyment of air conditioning as you drive between temples and you do not have to breathe in the dust from the dirt roads. We arrived early in the morning (and I mean early) to watch the sunrise over the Angkor Wat (a lot of people do this or try to watch the sunset). Here is our day...
